CNA Classes in Washington – Schools, Salary, and License Info

CNA Classes in Washington

To become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in Washington, you have to complete two steps.

The state’s Department of Health regulates the CNA procedure.

The procedure includes taking training and passing the exam.

Additionally, you can get advanced credentials in the state.

Training Requirements

Washington citizens who want to become CNA have to take one of the approved training courses.

Each program lasts for 85 hours, and you can find the complete list of programs on the state’s Department of Health and Human Services website.

However, in Washington, if you are a graduate nurse, nurse student, or military nurse assistant, you can take the test without attending the course.

Final Test

In Washington state, aspired nurses have to pass the NNAAP test.

The NNAAP test or National Nurse Aide Assessment Program is regulated by Pearson VUE.

The test has two obligatory parts and costs $110.

The first part is the skills demonstration, in which you have to pass all key steps in practical nursing activities.

The second part is a knowledge test that you can take in a written or oral format.

Candidates are allowed to take the test a few times.

If they are unsuccessful, they must retake the entire training program from the beginning.

The Application

Candidates who decide to take the state-approved program will be guided through the application process by their instructors.

The Department of Health for the Washington state website holds information about the application process for individual applicants or out of state aspiring nurses.

You can apply online as well.

The eligibility route determines the necessary documents.

However, you will most likely be asked to submit a copy of the nursing school diploma, letter of recommendation from nursing school, your licenses, and past, out-of-state CNA certificates, etc.

Schools

Before you apply for any nursing school program, consider all positive and negative aspects of the nursing profession.

Because of the rising need for the nurses, there is a large number of eligible schools across Washington state.
