CNA Classes in Idaho

If you see yourself as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in Idaho, keep reading to find out more information.

In Idaho, Prometric and a few other state agencies regulate the CNA training and provide certifications.

You have to complete the nurse training and pass the final exam to get your certificate in Idaho.

Training Requirements

In Idaho, only state-approved programs are suitable for getting a nurse aide certificate.

The Department of Health and Welfare website includes the list of all official programs and has other useful information about CNAs.

The minimal duration of the state-approved program is 120 hours.

However, people who completed nurse training in other states might be eligible to take the exam without taking the training program in Idaho.

It is possible only if the program in other states meets the federal requirement.

Also, nursing students in Idaho who have completed at least one coursework semester are eligible to take the exam.

On the other hand, medical assistants, medics, or emergency medical technicians are not always eligible.

Final Test

Prometric administers the written text, but you can also request an oral examination.

The final test also includes a skills demonstration.

A candidate will be given a medical scenario, and his nursing assistant duties will be evaluated.

That way, you will prove whether you are capable of doing the nurse assistant job.

In Idaho, you can pick a preferred location from the list of available testing sites across the state.

The list is available on the state’s Department of Health and Welfare website, and you will be scheduled for testing.

To get learning materials and more answers, you can consult the Prometric website.

All candidates are allowed to take the exam three times with a one-year deadline from training course completion.

Candidates who fail can retake only the part in which they weren’t successful.

The test fee for the written knowledge test is $29, and for oral is $39.

Application

The information about the requirements for the test is available on the Prometric website.

It is also where you can find all forms and application materials.

Bear in mind that you will probably have to submit a few documents, which depends on your eligibility route.

Those may include past certificates, recommendation letters, nursing school diploma, out-of-state certificates, etc.

Schools

In Idaho, there is a large number of training options for nurses.

It is expected that the need for CNA will rise in the future.
