CNA Classes in Florida – Schools, Salary, and License Info

CNA Classes in Florida

In Florida, Prometric, Board of Nursing and the Florida Department of Health regulates the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.

There are a few ways to get your certificate.

Keep reading to find out more about how to become a CNA in Florida.

Training Requirements

People who live in Florida can choose to attend the training course approved by the state, and then taking the exam.

Going to the course isn’t required in Florida.

Citizens older than 18 years with a high school diploma can take the practical and written test.

Anyone who had any kind of nursing training can take the test as well.

Final Test

Those who want to become CNA in Florida must pass the Prometric Nurse Aide Exam.

The exam has two blocks – practical and theoretical block.

The theoretical block is available as a written or audio test, in both English or Spanish language.

The skills test is more complex, as you will be asked to assist the actor pretending to be patients.

The evaluation of the skill will focus on hand hygiene, indirect care behavior, and other skills.

The list of skills is random for every candidate.

In Florida, there are several testing locations that you can choose.

The learning materials and practice tests are available on the Prometric website.

You have three attempts to finish the test within two years of registration.

It is convenient that if you fail one block, you can retake only that block again and not the whole exam.

The complete testing fee is $140 in Florida.

Candidates who have to retake the skills test have to pay $105 and, and those who need to take the knowledge test have to pay $35.

Any aspiring CNA must have to clear the FBI background checks.

There are other requirements too, and you can find them on the Prometric website.

The forms and registration materials are also available on the same website.

Each student will be asked to provide some documents, and the list of documents depends on the eligibility route.

Some candidates may have to submit a nursing school diploma, copy of an out-of-state certificate, expired licenses, recommendation letter, mentors signature on the application form, etc.

Florida, as well as other US states, needs more competent CNAs.

Check the list of all free training nursing programs in Florida and sign up only if you are sure that you can handle all pros and cons of the nursing profession.
