Training Requirements

You can find a list of appropriate programs on the Board of Nursing website.

Candidates who don’t have to attend the program to become eligible to take the test are nursing school graduates, corpsmen, military nurses, or anyone who take the program in the other state which lasted at least 75 hours.

In Oregon, the final test is administered by the Headmaster.

The test has two obligatory parts – skills demonstration test and knowledge test.

The first part related to skills will require you to perform all key nursing duties successfully.

Then, you can take the knowledge test in written or in oral form.

It is convenient that in Oregon, you can pick the location where you will take the test.

Also, you have a few attempts to pass the test in a limited time.

If you fail, you will have to take the course again.

In Oregon, the fee for the test is $106.

Application

All candidates who take the official state training program will be guided through the application procedure by their mentors.

Out-of-state candidates, or individuals who are eligible to take the test because of their education, can find all necessary information on the SBON website, including application forms.

You will probably have to submit some other documentation, which depends on your eligibility route.

That can include a recommendation letter from nursing school, copies of other certificates and expired licenses, etc.
